Girl's Day!
The P.U.S.H. organization had an educational “Girl’s Day” Thursday, October 20, 2016.
The ladies started out with a unity breakfast and spoke about future plans and current achievements. The next stop was a visit to a career center where the participants registered to begin participating in career-focused programs and job alerts. From there, we went to a local job fair where they had face-to-face interviews and spoke to local businesses about job opportunities. Finally, the last stop was a visit to Columbus State University, where P.U.S.H. was invited to attend their PYT event. The Office of Diversity and Program Services in collaboration with the Collegiate Women of Columbus State University hosted their first annual Pretty Young Thang Women’s Empowerment Luncheon. The speakers were Mrs. Markwood, CSU’s first lady, Sparkle the Celebrity Stylist, and Dee Armstrong, news broadcaster.
The event’s main purpose was to discuss women's empowerment. The topics specifically
covered were leadership, unity, and self-image. Various ladies from Girl’s Inc., Columbus State University and the community received PYT awards.
A day packed with career guidance, female empowerment, education and lots of laughs is one that we call a success!
